No Use For A Title

A collection of various media old and new created by me. Whoever that is.

Damn, I didn't realize it'd been so long since I typed anything on here. It's a combination of nothing noteworthy and me not paying attention, I guess.

The past couple of days the local news has been covering local flooding a lot. Lake County and parts of my Cuyahoga County were put underwater, like they were when Katrina or Rita or whichever one it was came this way through no unnatural means. I just want to go on the record with the fact that I am still alive and water-based disasters can't kill me. (Even though we live really close to the lake, there hasn't been any flooding here. We've been closer to flooded when someone messes with the fire hydrants.)

What else...oh, how about that new war in the Middle East? I don't know about any of you, but it makes me long for the day we figure out alternative energy, so we can go back to our time-tested tradition of isolationism.* As for those out there who think this just may be their ticket to the Rapture...not yet. My "December" post was parody; that's at least another decade away. I have plans to see through first.

Been on DSL for some number of weeks now.** It's not quite the 1gbps I get at school, but it will do. I need to be careful, though, or I may actually fill up my hard drive (something I was never in danger of before). I guess I can always get some DVD-Rs.

Nothing else to note right now. There are a couple of things I'm pretty sure of, but maybe I should wait another year and see.

*Then my city, state, and country will represent me in some fashion or another.

**Some number could even be one...my memory is really terrible around now.

Lately there have been a lot of Kennywood commercials on TV. For the uninitiated, Kennywood is an amusement park (I think that's the term you crazy kids would use) in PA, near the border with Ohio. I guess they're trying to steal some business from Cedar Point and/or Six Flags.** At first I was wondering why they would try to get people to come to a place that is much further away in the average case, then I realized that people who go that far to do something are more likely to expend a greater amount of resources to reach their goal, whether it is having fun, closing an important deal, or twisting an ethereal knife in my back.

In less bitter-flashback-inducing news*, today some guy from ATT or SBC or whatever they're deciding to call themselves today (you crazy corporations) came by and I guess we're going to have DSL starting next month. My brother and cousin are excited about it, but I myself am ambivalent*. I kind of like being able to tie up the phone line to miss calls, or suddenly disconnect to get out of IMs. I suppose I still can do both, but I would have to do so in a roundabout way that probably violates my archaic honor code. It's not like I did it that often, anyway. *cough*

*maybe.

**Six Flags is the place I got the shit burned out of me...twice. (Sunblock? "Hahaha!", he said. "We'll stay in the shade most of the time anyway", he said.) I've never been to Cedar Point, even though my family goes there an average of once a year; I always have somewhere else to be or something else to do. Maybe I'll go get burned there, too.
