Earlier today my grandfather decided that getting kerosene today was a top priority. Actually, we took some of those red gasoline containers (empty) with us the other day when we went to get my cousin, and tried to fill them up at a place on the way. They wouldn't let us, apparently because it's illegal to fill up a red can labeled "gasoline" with kerosene.*
We went to get some of the regulation blue kerosene cans the other day, but they only had five and we wanted eight. We ended up getting a can of blue spray paint, the kind that bonds to plastic, and spraypainting three of the gasoline containers blue.
Of course, by the time we got to the station, some of the paint had scratched off (this was the next day, aka today) so some of the red was showing. We put the (slightly darker) blue cans labeled "Gasoline" in between the real cans, filled them all up, and left with no incident.
Stupid law, though. If you can't tell the difference between kerosene (or "kerosine", as the cans say) and gasoline, you deserve to fuck up your car by putting kerosene in it, or to blow something up in a fireball when you try to use gasoline in...well, you see where I'm going with this.
I guess that's all I've got for today.
*This damn country!
I finally got the PIN I need to register for next semester's classes today.
I was looking through the online course list and saw one course with 60 of its 40 spots filled.* Here I was worried about being 43rd of 40 in a different class.**
I decided to take 4/5 of those twice-a-week 75-minute classes I hate, partly because one of the classes I would have taken instead is filled (and I don't know the professor so I don't feel like asking for an override). Besides, I've been doing things I hate for years now.*** It won't be so bad, though. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I'm out by 2:50, and Friday I don't have to be there until 2:00. Tuesday and Thursday is from 10:00 to 4:00, but that includes a 3.5-hour gap between the two classes I have those days.
That's pretty much it, other than the weird weather we've been having lately. Combinations of rain and high humidity, storms and high temperatures. I should stop trying to fling hurricanes everywhere. Or maybe it's global warming.
*shrug*
* No, I didn't reverse that.
** That either.
*** *checks* Yes, I can say "years" now.
